Safety & Training

The club is an affiliated RYA training centre and provides theory and practical training courses.

Our practical training courses includes;

  • Power boat 2

Our theory training courses includes;​

  • Essential Navigation & Seamanship

  • RYA Day Skipper Theory

  • RYA Yachtmaster Theory

  • VHF Radio

We also support our members in achieving qualifications/training required for us to manage our activities, including;

  • First Aid 

  • Event Management

  • Paddlesport Leader & Instructor

  • Coaching

  • Safeguarding

We perform informal training in the form of talks in the clubhouse, helping us to exchange the incredible experience  that is held within the club.

If you have a specific requirement then please get in touch.  

The club also have an 'on-the-water' safety team which provides support during local and club events. They can be seen on the water during children's sailing and they also support each of the sections within the club with regards safety training. A great example is supporting our rowers that perform an annual Man Over Board training session.
